Last updated: 14 October 2025
Business: FHP Consulting Ltd, Company No. 9290038, Collingham House, 10-12 Gladstone Road, London, SW18 1QT, VAT No. 39849303

1) What we do (our role)

We act as your agent to arrange grading by Professional Sports Authenticator (PSA), USA. You authorise us to prepare, consolidate, export, submit, and return your items (“Items”) for grading. We do not provide grading; that service is performed by PSA in the United States.

2) Your order & contract

Your contract with us is for intermediary/handling services. Your contract for grading is with PSA. You appoint us to deal with PSA on your behalf, including creating/accepting PSA submissions, agreeing to PSA’s terms, and paying PSA’s fees as your agent.

3) Fees, VAT & disbursements

  • Our service fee (admin/handling/UK logistics) is subject to UK VAT at the prevailing rate.

  • PSA’s fees (grading, upcharges, PSA return shipping/insurance, special holders) are treated as disbursements or zero-rated intermediary services for a supply taking place outside the UK.

  • If HMRC later determines VAT is due on any element you agreed was outside scope/zero-rated, you agree to pay that VAT upon request.

  • Prices shown on our site may exclude PSA upcharges (see §10).

4) Declared value & tier selection

You must provide an honest Declared Value (USD) per Item. This is used by PSA for tiering, insurance and potential upcharges. If the true market value is higher than declared, PSA may re-tier and charge more. You remain liable for any difference, duties, taxes and insurance impacts.

5) Packing, condition & preparation

You confirm Items are genuine, lawfully owned by you, and safe to handle. Pack to our guidelines (penny sleeve + semi-rigid, no tape touching cards, etc.). You authorise us to perform light surface dusting and card transfer into PSA-approved holders if needed (no chemical cleaning, trimming or restoration).

6) Risk, title & insurance

  • Title to Items remains with you at all times.

  • Risk during UK collection/receipt/dispatch sits with us only to the extent covered by the shipping/insurance options you select and pay for. Beyond that, Items travel at your risk.

  • Our consolidated shipments to PSA include transit insurance based on your Declared Value. Cover is limited to the insurer’s terms and our stated per-parcel/per-item caps. Provide proof of value if you claim. Consequential loss is excluded.

7) Export, customs & import

You authorise us to complete export/import customs entries in your name or ours. You are responsible for duties/taxes assessed outside the UK (including any US charges) and for any return import VAT into the UK, unless we state in writing that these are included.

8) Turnaround times

Turnaround times shown are estimates only (PSA lab time + transit). We’re not liable for delays outside our control (PSA capacity, customs, strikes, weather, etc.).

9) Grading outcomes, crossovers & minimum grade

Grading is subjective. We do not guarantee any grade, autograph result, crossover outcome or minimum grade target. If you request a minimum grade/crossover, PSA may encase or return per PSA’s policy; fees are still payable unless PSA’s terms say otherwise.

10) PSA upcharges & special holders

If PSA determines an Item belongs in a higher service tier (e.g., based on value) or needs a special holder (e.g., T-3/Jumbo/thick), PSA may apply upcharges/holder fees. You authorise us to accept such charges on your behalf. You agree to pay any difference before Items are returned to you.

11) Rejections, authenticity & alterations

PSA may decline to grade or “authentic only” items they deem altered/counterfeit/externally risky. PSA’s decision is final. All PSA fees and our service fees remain payable for attempted submissions unless PSA’s own terms provide a credit.

12) Payment & lien

All disbursements, upcharges, shipping and taxes are due on invoice. We may exercise a lien (right to retain Items) until your balance is paid in full. Unpaid balances after 330 days may incur storage/admin charges and interest at Bank of England Base Rate + 5% p.a.

13) Loss & damage liability (limits)

We take reasonable care. Our total liability for loss or damage caused by us is limited to the Declared Value you provided for the Item. We exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, loss of market, or missed opportunities.

14) Prohibited items

We do not accept Items that PSA will not grade (e.g., certain cut signatures, per PSA’s current list) or Items that are illegal/unsafe. If in doubt, ask us before sending.

15) Returns, cancellations & changes

Because we start work quickly (consolidation/export windows), orders may be non-cancellable once we’ve booked a submission. If you cancel before export, we’ll return Items at your cost. Where consumer cancellation rights apply, you consent to us beginning services immediately and acknowledge the statutory right to cancel may end once services are fully performed.

16) Data protection

We process your personal data to fulfil your order and share necessary data with PSA, carriers, insurers and customs. See our Privacy Policy for details and your UK GDPR rights.

17) Complaints

Email sales@cardhawkuk.com with your order number and photos (if relevant). We aim to respond within 2 business days.

18) Force majeure

Neither party is liable for delay/failure caused by events beyond reasonable control (e.g., PSA closure, customs holds, strikes, carrier disruption, natural events).

19) Governing law & jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.

20) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version shown at checkout applies to your order. Material changes will be flagged on our site.
