When Bandai released OP13: Carrying On His Will in November 2025 to celebrate the third anniversary of the One Piece Card Game, the set arrived loaded with collector-grade highlights — Manga Rares, Gorosei debuts illustrated by Jujutsu Kaisen creator Akutami Gege, and Red Super Alt-Arts among them. But for many collectors, the card that defined the set was the 3rd Anniversary SP Gold version of Shanks (OP09-004).

Shanks — OP09-004 (3rd Anniversary Gold SP)
Originally printed in OP09: Emperors in the New World, Shanks OP09-004 is a 10-cost Red Character card with 12,000 power, the Slash attribute, and the Rush keyword — allowing it to attack the turn it is played. Its on-play effect gives all of your opponent's Characters −1,000 power, making it both a board presence and an immediate threat.
The 3rd Anniversary SP version reprints this card with a stunning gold foil treatment and ornate border design that sets it apart from both the standard issue and the more common silver-stamped variant. The artwork features Shanks in his iconic pose — white shirt, black cape, and the unmistakable red hair — rendered against an intricate gold-and-crimson patterned background with rose motifs.
As a Special card within the OP13 set, the Gold version is significantly rarer than its Silver counterpart, and has quickly established itself as one of the most valuable and desired pulls in the entire expansion.
